News released from the Orlando City front office today about the signing of its first Orlando City B player, Jordan Bender. Bender, a native of Lake Mary, was a stand out player at OCYS before moving into the Development Academy.
“This is a moment we wait for. A journey of a young soccer player who commits and works hard. Soccer seasons have ups and downs and this is an example of a young player who has perserved, committed to his development and now is beginning his professional career. He is an example to all young players.” Orlando City Technical Director Paul Shaw said.
Bender, 17, played for the Orlando City Development Academy since he was 14, when he started with the U-13/14s, before this time he played at OCYS. He earned his first U.S. U-16 national team call-up in February 2017.
