OCSS-Seminole Welcomes Lloyd Yaxley as GK Director

December 5, 2019, Orlando, FL Orlando City Soccer School - Seminole (OCSS-Seminole) announces the hire of Lloyd Yaxley as Director of Goalkeeping.

Lloyd Yaxley was appointed as the Goalkeeper Coach for the Orlando Pride on Jan. 2017 and will continue in his role as Coach. He joins OCSS-Seminole January 2020 to lead the Goalkeeping staff.

“We are delighted to have Lloyd join our staff. Lloyd is well known for his coaching of National Team and Olympic goalkeepers, Ashlynn Harris (USA) & Stephanie Labbe (Canada) as well as developing young goalkeepers like Aubrey Bledsoe, a recent US Women’s National Team call up. We have a long history of developing Goalkeepers who have gone on to College and Professional careers. It was a natural choice to have someone of Lloyd’s pedigree join our staff.” said Executive Director Laura Halfpenny.

Yaxley joined the Pride after four seasons with the Washington Spirit where he oversaw the development of Harris from 2013-15 and helped the team qualify for the postseason in each of the three seasons. In 2016, Yaxley coached Spirit goalkeeper Stephanie Labbé, who went on to win a bronze medal with Canada at the 2016 Rio Olympics. Prior to joining Washington, Yaxley was a coach for D.C. United Women and also served as the Director of Goalkeeping and Sr. Director of Coaching for Prince William Soccer Inc.

A native of Essex, England, Yaxley is a frequent coach with the U.S. U-23 Women’s National Team, In addition, Yaxley has worked with the U-18 WNT and was also called to assist the senior U.S. Women’s National Team for two matches against Romania in November 2016.

Yaxley holds both a USSF B coaching license and an  NSCAA Advanced National Goalkeeping Diploma. Before coming stateside, Yaxley oversaw goalkeepers for Chelsea FC affiliate P.A.S.S. and enjoyed a playing career with multiple overseas clubs.
